2023 NATP Annual Meeting

The 2023 Nebraska Association of Transportation Providers (NATP) Annual Meeting was held September 26. New Board members elected include Joyce Deaver, west central region; Larry Vortherms, east central region; and Dani Wright, at-large director. During the Board of Directors Meeting following the Annual Meeting, Cecelia Grotz-Moran with CRANE Public Transit was elected president; Pam Arterburn with Midland Public Transit, treasurer; and Tammy Bradley-Larsen with Florence Home, secretary.


During the Annual Meeting, NATP honored several individuals for their service and commitment with the following awards:

  • Rookie Manger of the Year: Reneé White, North Platte Public Transit System
  • Manager of the Year: Tammy Bradley-Larsen, Florence Home, Omaha
  • Award of Excellence: Dani Wright, Ponca Express, Norfolk

2023 NATP Annual Statewide Roadeo

NATP held its Annual Statewide Roadeo at the Nebraska Safety Center Driving Range in Kearney on September 27. This was the 31st year of hosting the Roadeo and the theme was a beach bash.


Thank you to:

  • All the drivers, volunteers and staff who participated in the event
  • The Nebraska Safety Center who donated the use of the driving range, a bus, cones, and staff for the event
  • Cedar County Public Transit, CRANE Public Transit, and Midlands Public Transit for the use of your vehicles for the event

The Roadeo competition consists of a written test, pre-trip inspection, wheelchair securement, and a driving skills course, with 10 obstacles.


Following the Roadeo competition, all attendees gathered for an awards luncheon. Drivers were introduced and presented with certificates for their participation. There were 14 drivers from seven different transit agencies in the minivan division and 10 drivers from five different agencies in the body on chassis division.


The first-place winner in each division took home a $250 check and an engraved clock. The second-place winner received a $150 check along with an engraved key ring. The third-place winner was presented with a $100 check.


The first and second place drivers and their managers are eligible to attend and compete in the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) National Roadeo in West Palm Beach, Florida, June 8-9, 2024.

Body on Chassis Division Winners

  • Justin Randolph, City of McCook Transit, first place
  • Joe Walker, Metro Transit Omaha, second place
  • Kristen Adsit, KCTS, third place

The first-place winners also took home a traveling trophy to be displayed at their agency until next year’s Roadeo.


The Driver of the Year Award went to Mindy Manning, Florence Home, who had the highest score of the day. Mindy received a $50 gift card as a prize.


A spirit award for the attendee who exemplified the theme and spirit of the event was given to Carol Goheen of Florence Home.
