Panhandle Transit Services (PTS) is in the planning stages of further expansion into the “Heart City” of Nebraska – Valentine. Valentine, Nebraska has not offered public transit services previously and is excited to propose such services in their community.

Jonnie Kusek, PTS director of transportation, shares that there is still plenty to do: hiring and training staff, location setup, community and stakeholder meetings, public education, and outreach are just to name a few. Startup and planning normally takes a minimum of six months to one year, but Valentine has zero public transportation options at this time, and everyone is eager to have some level of services offered, prior to the start of winter.

A soft start, scheduled to begin early November 2022, is right around the corner. Stay tuned!

PTS is currently working on rebranding with a new name, logo, and marketing campaign to shape a more inclusive program for all services offered regionally. For more information on services offered, please contact the PTS call center at 308-761-8747.
