The Nebraska Public Transit team continues to work on updating all 5310 and 5311 Title VI plans across the state. Working with transit agencies in the last quarter we’ve collected dozens of responses and created plans for more than half the 5311 agencies.

In January we aim to complete the 5311 agencies and leave February, March, and April devoted to the 5310 agencies in Nebraska. As part of this, agencies who have not yet responded to the questionnaires were contacted in the last three weeks. If your agency still has not yet submitted responses, we ask you to do so immediately.

Another change we wanted to let you know about is that two new team members from the University of Nebraska at Omaha will be taking on this project. Morgan Vogel will serve as lead on the project. She is a research associate in the Center for Public Affairs Research and has worked with the Nebraska Public Transit team on many different projects over the last five years. Michael Lee is a graduate assistant at UNO and has been working on the Title VI renewal project since September 2022. Together they will be reaching out to agencies to collect responses, provide draft plans, and finalize steps for submission.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Morgan Vogel at mdvogel@unomaha.edu.
