2021 Quarter Three NATP President’s Message

Oct 08, 2021

Greetings!

I am Nikki Pinkelman, the Cedar County Transit Manager from Hartington, Nebraska. I look forward to being your NATP President the next couple of years. Please feel free to contact anytime for questions, comments, or suggestions. My email is cedarcotransit@hartel.net or cell 402-640-1256. I would like to thank all of you who have renewed their memberships and feel free to help us reach out and ask other agencies to join.

I would like to acknowledge our outgoing president, Beth Siegfried. She did a great job and I have been told I have big shoes to fill! I would also like to congratulate Ron Lockman with Tri-City Roadrunner on receiving the Transit Appreciation award and Pam Arterbaum with Midlands Transit for Rookie Manager of the Year. I would like to welcome new board members Larry Vortherms and Joyce Deaver and thank the returning board members for their continued service.

It was great to be able to meet in person for our last two events. I enjoy the in-person interaction and they were both great opportunities to network with other managers and drivers. The manager meeting was a success, great presentations by all, and as a manager I always look forward to Kari Ruse’s updates. We had fun at the Salt Dogs baseball game, thanks for those who attended and please let us know if you have any other great social ideas when we attend meetings! Next on the calendar was the driver Roadeo, what a great day and the weather was perfect. I look forward to this event every year as it provides hands on training and a good chance to socialize. Great job by all drivers and managers who were brave enough to drive the course and congratulations to all the winners. Good luck to those who will be traveling to the National Roadeo next May!

Until next time!
